This is an LCD module capable of displaying graphics (including bitmaps) as well as strings of characters on to a display resolution of 84x48 pixels. It is also comprised of 4 active-low blue backlight LEDs that can be disabled if desired. With only 8 connections to establish, it makes this one of the easier LCD modules to get up and running. It also only requires a max of 3.3VDC to function (do not exceed this limit to avoid burning module) which makes it compatible with most microcontroller units including the notable Arduino boards.

This compact 8 x 2 LCD is great for small microcontroller projects where you want more than just a blinking LED for feedback. This unit uses the standard HD44780 parallel interface and features a black bezel. This little 8-character, 2-line parallel liquid crystal display is a generic equivalent of the Optrex DMC-50448N-AAE-AD LCD. It uses the common HD44780 interface, so sample interface code is widely available for a variety of microcontrollers. This is the smallest package we know of for this familiar interface.

This is a RGB matrix driver built around the ATMEGA328P microcontroller chip. This driver was specifically designed to drive RGB LEDs meaning you won’t have to connect any additional hardware. All you have to do is upload Arduino software to the ATMEGA (look for Colorduino libraries) by connecting the driver using an FT232 USB adapter (UART). Connect your RGB matrix, and admire the display. The extruding pins also allow for I2C communication making cascading a possibility. As for an alternative programming interface, you have the option to program the board through ISP headers as well. You may also choose how to power your system thanks to an on-board switch (choose between power from headers or screw terminals). For headers the driver supports 5VDC and, for the terminals, it can support up to 7VDC (make sure not to exceed this limit to avoid burnt chips). The integrated DM163 current driver allows for up to 3x 8+6-bit channels making this driver compatible with 60mmx60mm 8x8 RGB matrices (square and circle dot).
