The Multi-Functional Optocoupler Tester is a single-hand electronic diagnostic tool designed for rapid testing of a wide range of components. It features four intelligent test gears, automatic protection, left/right indicator lamps for alignment feedback, and a built-in rechargeable lithium battery for portable use.

Physical & Electrical Specifications

  • Product Size: 144 × 19 × 3 mm
  • Input Interface: USB Type-C (dual-use: charging & operation)
  • Input Voltage: 5V
  • Input Current: 0.2A
  • Battery Capacity: 120mAh (built-in lithium battery)
  • Charging Behavior:
    • No charging LED (internal protection board manages charging)
    • Automatically stops charging when full
  • Power Management:
    • 15-minute automatic shutdown
    • Long-press 5 seconds: power ON
    • Short press: gear switching
    • Short press ~0.1s: shift among 4 test gears
    • Long press 1 second (when ON): reset cycle flashes green LED 6 times

General Features

  • Ultra-thin, lightweight body suitable for extended one-hand use
  • Four test gears requiring no external components
  • Dual indicator lights (Left / Right) for real-time judgment of component condition
  • Supports complex switching components (MOS, IGBT, SCR, MOC, triacs, etc.)
  • Capable of generating test signals (pulse / square-wave)
  • Ideal for troubleshooting, confirming pin alignment, detecting shorts, and identifying faulty devices

Supported Tests & Gear Functions

Gear 1: Square-Wave Output / Basic Signal Test

  • Outputs approx. 1 kHz square wave
  • Used to provide a small test signal to external circuits
  • Very small current output — not suitable for long short-circuit testing
  • Good for driving inputs of optocouplers, logic gates, and simple trigger circuits

Gear 2: TL431 & Simple Component Measurement

  • Tests TL431 precision reference
  • Measurement between Anode (A) and Cathode (K) terminals
  • Normal reading approx. 2.5V
  • Left/Right lamps indicate alignment
  • Also used as a simple reference voltage test gear

Gear 3: Thyristor/SCR/MOC Optocoupler Test

This gear simulates triggering behavior for components requiring controlled gate current.

Included Test Behaviors:

SCR/Thyristor Test

  • Matches the G–A–K (Gate, Anode, Cathode) arrangement
  • Small current triggers left lamp → right lamp sequence
  • Correct behavior:
    • Left lamp flashes twice, right lamp flashes once
    • If left/right lamp flash simultaneously, it indicates short conduction
  • Excessive current components cannot be tested here

MOC / 6-Pin Optocoupler Test (e.g., MOC3021, etc.)

  • Supports 4–6 pin phototriac optocouplers
  • Typical behavior:
    • Left lamp flashes twice = good
    • Right lamp bright or weak flashing = acceptable depending on circuit
    • Shorted/low-resistance components may cause both lamps to flash

Components supported include:

  • SCRs
  • Triacs
  • MOC series optocouplers
  • Optotriacs
  • Photocouplers requiring gate triggering

Gear 4: Transistor/MOSFET/IGBT Test

This is the most advanced gear, supporting:

NPN/PNP Transistors

  • Tests pin alignment (B, C, E)
  • Normal behavior:
    • Working transistor: Right lamp flashes
    • Left lamp flashing = reversed or faulty alignment
    • No lamp = defective or open component

MOSFET (N-MOS, P-MOS)

  • Alignment based on G–D–S
  • N-MOS:
    • Left lamp ON = gate alignment incorrect or component faulty
    • Right lamp flashing = normal
  • P-MOS:
    • Left lamp should stay OFF
    • Right lamp flashing = proper connection

IGBT (Power Transistors)

  • Tests high-voltage MOS-IGBT types
  • Normal behavior:
    • Right lamp flashing = proper gate conduction
    • No light on one side = reversed pins or weak device
Supports:
  • NPN/PNP bipolar transistors
  • NMOS/PMOS
  • IGBTs
  • High-voltage MOSFETs

Additional Component Support

  • 4-pin optocouplers: Left/Right pin alignment tests, indicator feedback
  • 6-pin optocouplers: Includes both transistor-output and SCR-output types
  • Pulse output to trigger circuits: Useful for logic testing
  • Short-test detection: Lamp indicates shorts by rapid, strong illumination

Safety Note

⚠ Do NOT test live circuits.
Connecting the tester to powered circuits can permanently damage the indicator and the internal protection board.
