SI-KIT Beginners: Soldering and De-Soldering Kit
This is a basic kit that comes with everything you need to get soldering and desoldering. We highly recommend this kit for students looking for a cheap soldering kit. We also recommend this to hobbyist who want an all in one kit.
This unit is well packed in a black plastic container with foam padding inside. You will find in the container the following:
- 1x De-soldering pump
- 1x ESD-safe fine tip curved tweezer
- 5x ceramic heater based soldering tips (chisel, hoof, needle-point, knife & general purpose)
- 1x 60/40 - tin/lead solder in a tube, 1.45mm diameter
- 1x sponge
- 1x soldering iron holder
- 1x 60Watt temperature adjustable soldering pencil. (200 to 450C) + 1 generic purpose tip

- Recommend to get a brass sponge to clean the pencil
- Ensure the sponge is moist with water, soaking the sponge will significantly shorten your pencil lifespan.
- Allow the iron to cool down by unplugging and letting it rest for at least 20 minutes before placing into the storage unit.
- Do not try to solder the power cord, Don’t be silly.
- Establish a proper working space and avoid other people from entering your zone when soldering.
- Use a fan to suck the fume away from you when soldering.
- The picture above, the iron was tested for 13 hours straight for quality assurance, your pencil will not look like this.
If you follow these guide, you will be using this kit for at least 2 years.
