The CP2102 interface converter is a small bridging device for converting TTL serial to USB.
It requires minimum PCB space while offering maximum efficiency with full speed USB 2.0 functionality. The board has a USB transceiver, an oscillator, a 1KB programmable EEPROM and asynchronous serial data bus with control signals. These features are all packed into a tiny 42x15mm package that needs no external USB Components or power supplies to operate.
The device is USB-powered and uses clever firmware that includes all RS-232 control and handshaking signals. This means you don’t have to stress about updating the firmware, and can simply plug it directly into a USB drive on a computer, access it as a virtual COM port, and then update designs from RS-232 to USB. It can use various standard Baud Rates between 300bps and 1Mbps.
Note: Depending on what operating system you are utilising, you may need to download CP2102 VCP Drivers to ensure optimal communications between your computer an the controller.
