ARD-FTDI-IO FTDI-232RL – USB to Serial Communication for 5v or 3.3v Microcontrollers
This unit is based on a genuine FTDI FT232RL chipset, we highly recommend this product for those finicky electronic speed controllers that required this chipset for programming.
It can also work for devices that operate on TTL communicate and offer a way to communicate to your PC via Tera Term or Putty.
Recommended for:
- Programming microprocessors such as ARM, AVR, etc
- Routers, Switches, GPS and Raspberry Pi
This unit has a jumper and is configured for 5v devices, ensure that you move the jumper to the second position if you have 3.3vdc devices before powering your target device!
- DTR: Data Terminal Ready - an output used for flow control
- RX: Serial data Receive pin
- TX: Serial data Transmit pin
- VCC: Positive voltage output - this is controlled by the jumper. If the jumper is set to 5V, this will provide a 5V output. If the jumper is set to 3.3V, this will provide a 3.3V output.
- CTS: Clear To Send - an input used for flow control
- GND: Ground or 0V
