8x8 RGB LED Matrix with 74HC595 Shift Registers
This is a basic 2088RGB 8x8 LED matrix that runs on 3.3v, you can comfortably run this device on your raspberry pi or Arduino using the 3.3v pin. This board can do three colors or mix multiple colors.
To simplify life this board comes with 5 female to female headers for wiring with the raspberry pi. Purchasing a male to female header makes it easy to run with Arduino. This board uses four daisy chained 74HC595 shifters.
IC U1 controls the RED colors, IC U2 controls the Blue colors, ICU3 controls Green and ICU4 controls the row as common ground.
This product might be difficult to work with, as it requires knowledge of how shift registers work, MSB and LSB along with creating arrays.
We highly recommend this product for those who are curious and want to challenge themselves in programming.
