The AMS1117-3.3 is a SOT-223 package fixed voltage regulator capable of outputting 3.3V 1A. It has three terminals (GND (1), Vout (2), Vin (3)) and maintains a maximum voltage dropout of 1.3V (will increase for loads over 0.8A). A 22uF capacitor placed on the output may be required to ensure overall stability. This regulator is very common on Arduino boards. It is recommended that input voltage shouldn’t exceed 12V.
