L298 2A per channel, Dual Motor Driver Shield for Arduino Microcontrollers
Application:
Dual Motor (Input A and Input B) driver to drive two motors independently, either forwards or backwards.
Commonly found in RC Cars, Autonomous Cars and Arduino Cars.
Can be used for driving inductive loads such as relays, solenoids and stepper motors that are Bi-Polar.
Supply external voltage from 5 to 35VDC using the VIN terminal block and connect a motor in either A- and A+ or B- and B+.
You can supply 5-12VDC for Vin with the terminal block and short a jumper on the bottom side of the board to provide that power to your Microcontroller. *** (See warning below)
To control direction assign pin 12 and 13 as either high or low.
To control Pulse Width Modulation use pin 3 and 11.
To use brake function pin 9 and 8 after soldering bridge on bottom side of the board.
Features:
Stackable shield for additional sensor shields.
LEDs to indicate which motor is active.
Green Screw Terminal Blocks for simplicity in fastening Load and Source.
Mounting holes for adding spacers or standoffs.
L298P in Power S 020 format, pre-soldered.
Supplies 2A per channel.
Four ports for Position Limit switches. (D6, D5, A2 and A3)
Two I2C ports for Bluetooth or sensors.
Multiple Vias for thermal dissipation and grounding.
Pin 8 and 9 can be reversed for Enable A and B, requires soldering jumper on backside.
Current Sense Feature Analog Pin 0 and Analog Pin 1, requires soldering jumper on backside.
Can supply power from external motor source to power Arduino, requires soldering jumper on backside. *** (See warning below)
*** WARNING: You limit the voltage input VIN on the terminal block to 12VDC, any higher may damage the Arduino. (Only true if jumper is soldered)
Easy to access reset button.
