2599-POLOLU Magnetic Encoder Disc for Micro Metal Gearmotors, 12 CPR
These magnetic discs can be used with our micro metal gearmotors with extended motor shafts as part of a quadrature encoder system that offers 12 counts per revolution. Appropriate Hall Effect sensors, such as those in our magnetic encoder pair kits, are required to complete the system.
These are the same magnetic discs we include with our magnetic encoder pair kits. They are 2 mm thick with a 7.65 mm diameter, and the hole through the center enables them to securely press-fit onto the 1mm-diameter motor shafts of our micro metal gearmotors with extended motor shafts. The disc consists of six evenly spaced magnetic poles (three north-south pairs), which allows for an encoder system that offers 12 counts per revolution.

- 1. The assembled encoder will extend 4.25 mm beyond the back of the motor (it fits entirely within the length of the extended motor shaft).
- 2. Weight of full set. Each encoder board weighs ~0.6 g and each magnet disc weighs ~0.6 g.
- 3. The assembled encoder will extend 5 mm beyond the plastic motor end cap (it fits entirely within the length of the extended motor shaft).
