Passive Buzzer
This passive buzzer will produce audio only when a AC signal is supplied to the device. When you apply a DC voltage, the buzzer will not generate a tone since it will require a sinusoidal wave. You can achieve this buy supply either a sine wave from a function generator or create PWM waves using a microcontroller or 555 timer.
If you are looking for buzzers that make noise when a DC signal is supplied we highly recommend looking for active buzzers.
