This is a 44 X 14mm piezoelectric passive buzzer which requires an AC signal to make a sound.
This is nicely enclosed with wires so you can attach easily. Piezo elements convert vibration to voltage or voltage to vibration. That means you can use this as a buzzer for making beeps, tones and alerts and you can use it as a sensor, to detect fast movements like knocks. Unlike the active buzzer that only requires a constant voltage this passive buzzer will need a microcontroller to help it run. It is like an electromagnetic speaker, where a changing input signal produces the sound, rather than producing a tone automatically.
