Moreover, when you use an Arduino Due as the controller of your 3D Printer, you cannot use the regular Ramps 1.4 that you would stick it on top of the MEGA2560. What makes the DUE so special is the fact that the 32-bit Atmel SAM3X8E chip in it is much more powerful and it operates at 3.3VDC compared to that in the Mega (Atmega2560) which operates at 5VDC.
