Stacking headers are a twist on the standard/common male and female header sets. In this case you have one header that has a socket on one end, and a long tail that gets soldered through a PCB. When soldered into a through-hole pad, the long tails can plug into another board's female headers while the sockets above the PCB allow another board to be plugged in. This means you can stack PCBs, as many as you like, on top of each other. You can even plug the lower board into a solderless breadboard, or plug wires into the top board's sockets.

By programming the Pi, you can twiddle those pins high or low, send and receive I2C and SPI data, and access the 3V and 5V power rails. This cable is not compatible with the Raspberry Pi Model B or Model A! If you want to bridge those contacts out onto another PCB, you'll want this cable! It's 6" long and has 40 socket & wire sets. Pin #1 is marked with a white wire.

The SGP combines multiple metal-oxide sensing elements on one chip to provide more detailed air quality signals. This is a gas sensor that can detect a wide range of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) and H2 and is intended for indoor air quality monitoring. When connected to your microcontroller (running our library code) it will return a Total Volatile Organic Compound (TVOC) reading and an equivalent carbon dioxide reading (eCO2) over I2C.

At the Feather 328P's heart is an ATmega328P clocked at 8 MHz and at 3.3V logic, a chip setup we've had tons of experience with as it's the same as the Pro Mini and similar to the Adafruit Metro 328. This chip has 32K of flash and 2K of RAM, and we paired it with a SiLabs CP2104 to give it USB-to-Serial program & debug capability built in. Works great when you want to keep your classic Arduino code compatibility, but want to use one of our dozens of FeatherWings To make it easy to use for portable projects, we added a connector for any of our 3.7V Lithium polymer batteries and built in battery charging. You don't need a battery, it will run just fine straight from the micro USB connector. But, if you do have a battery, you can take it on the go, then plug in the USB to recharge. The Feather will automatically switch over to USB power when its available. We also tied the battery thru a divider to an analog pin, so you can measure and monitor the battery voltage to detect when you need a recharge.
