SEN-14520 SparkFun Capacitive Touch Breakout - AT42QT1011
CA$
8.58
If you need to add user input without using a button, then a capacitive touch interface might be the answer. The AT42QT1011 SparkFun Capacitive Touch Breakout offers a single, momentary capacitive touch button with easy-to-use digital I/O pins. The AT42QT1011 is a dedicated, single-button capacitive sense chip. The chip handles monitoring a conductive area for touch. As long as a touch (e.g., from a finger) is detected, the AT42QT1011 keeps the output line high. Otherwise, the line is kept low. You just need to provide a power source (1.8V–5V) and ground for the AT42QT1011 to work. Additionally, a PAD pin is available if you would like to create your own external electrode.

ROB-14450 SparkFun Motor Driver - Dual TB6612FNG (with Headers)
CA$
23.97
The TB6612FNG Motor Driver can control up to two DC motors at a constant current of 1.2A (3.2A peak). Two input signals (IN1 and IN2) can be used to control the motor in one of four function modes: CW, CCW, short-brake and stop. The two motor outputs (A and B) can be separately controlled, and the speed of each motor is controlled via a PWM input signal with a frequency up to 100kHz. The STBY pin should be pulled high to take the motor out of standby mode. Due to popular demand, this version of the SparkFun Motor Driver includes pre-soldered male headers for ease of use. With the headers already soldered on, you can jump right in to using this little board without any assembly!

DEV-14215 SparkFun gamer:bit
CA$
16.85
The SparkFun gamer:bit is a fun-filled “carrier” board for the micro:bit that, when combined with the micro:bit, provides you with a fully functional game system. Designed in a similar form factor to the classic Nintendo NES controller, the gamer:bit is equipped with a four-direction “D-pad” on the left side of the board and two action buttons on the right side of the board. The two push buttons on the micro:bit in the center function as start and select. The gamer:bit connects to the micro:bit via an edge connector in the center of the board, making setup easy. This creates a handy way to swap out micro:bits for programming, while still providing reliable connections to all of the different pins on the micro:bit. We have also included several poke home connectors on the back of the board that correspond to each button on the gamer:bit, allowing you to use external parts to control your game!

DEV-14052 Spectacle Light Board
CA$
19.95
The Spectacle Light Board allows you to add some fairly complex lighting effects to your Spectacle projects in a streamlined manner. Each has connections for you to add addressable LEDs as well as an external power connector. Designed to make it easy to add relatively complex lighting effects to your Spectacle projects, the Spectacle Light Board integrates with the rest of the Spectacle ecosystem to allow you to control lighting effects with ease and comfort. The Light Board is equipped with two 3.5mm TRRS jacks for Spectacle control signals from a Director Board (DEV-13912). The one labeled “In” should be plugged into a board that is closer to the Director Board than the Light Board is, or into the Director Board itself. Make sure to pay attention to the directionality of the jacks, as they will dictate how your Spectacle modules speak with one another and with the Director Board. As with every other Spectacle module, you will need the Director Board to operate any Spectacle project.

DEV-14044 Spectacle Button Board
CA$
18.93
The Spectacle Button Board allows you to add input from buttons, switches or other contact-type sensing devices to your Spectacle projects. This is the largest board in the Spectacle line due to its total of nine signal inputs, allowing for a large number of connections to a single module. Designed to bring simple signals from the world into your Spectacle projects, the Button Board provides input for any of your Spectacle projects! The Button Board is equipped with two 3.5mm TRRS jacks for Spectacle control signals from a Director Board (DEV-13912). The one labeled “In” should be plugged into a board that is closer to the Director Board than the Button Board is, or into the Director Board itself. DEV-14034 Spectacle Audio Board
CA$
19.93
The Spectacle Audio Board allows you to add sound from a microSD card to your Spectacle projects. Each board accepts a microSD card with sounds in .ogg format, and has a 1/8" (3.5mm) audio jack line-level output ready to be amplified. It is important to know that the files used by the Spectacle Audio Board must be in OGG Vorbis format. This free codec has a higher compression ratio than MP3 and, more importantly, can be used without paying a licensing fee to any third-party organization. We use the free, open source program Audacity to convert from whatever the file’s current format is to OGG Vorbis. The Audio Board is equipped with three 3.5mm TRRS jacks: two for Spectacle control signals from a Director Board (DEV-13912) and one for an amplified speaker. The one labeled “In” should be plugged into a board that is closer to the Director Board than the Audio Board is, or into the Director Board itself. Make sure to pay attention to the directionality of the jacks, as they will dictate how your Spectacle modules speak with one another and with the Director Board. As with every other Spectacle module, you will need the Director Board to operate any Spectacle project.

DEV-13992 Spectacle Inertia Board
CA$
27.92
The Spectacle Inertia Board makes it easy to sense motion or orientation with a Spectacle project. The Spectacle Inertia Board is designed to allow your Spectacle to detect whether it is moving or stationary, or whether it is under acceleration. At the heart of each Inertia Board is the trustworthy ADXL345 triple-axis MEMS accelerometer. The ADXL345 is a perfect fit for your Spectacle project when it comes to all things Inertia! The Inertia Board is equipped with two 3.5mm TRRS jacks for Spectacle control signals from a Director Board (DEV-13912). The one labeled “In” should be plugged into a board that is closer to the Director Board than the Inertia Board is, or into the Director Board itself. Make sure to pay attention to the directionality of the jacks, as they will dictate how your Spectacle modules speak with one another and with the Director Board. As with every other Spectacle module, you will need the Director Board to operate any Spectacle project.

DEV-13912 Spectacle Director Board
CA$
38.38
Each Director Board features two 1/8" (3.5mm) jacks for Spectacle control signals. Plugging one TRRS cable into the headphone jack on your programming device and the other end into the “Program” jack on the Director Board will send commands into the reliable SAMD21 microcontroller at the board’s core. All you need to do then is plug another TRRS cable into the “Direct” jack on the Director Board and the other end of it into the “In” jack on another Spectacle board, and you are set! Make sure to pay attention to the directionality of the jacks, as they will dictate how your other Spectacle modules speak with the Director Board.
