Fingerprint scanners are awesome! Why use a key when you have one right at the tip of your finger? Unfortunately, they’re often unreliable or difficult to implement. Well not anymore! This great GT-521F32 fingerprint module from ADH-Tech communicates over TTL Serial so you can easily embed it into your next project. The module itself does all of the heavy lifting behind reading and identifying the fingerprints with an onboard optical sensor and 32-bit ARM Cortex M3 processor. This module is the economical version of the GT-521F52 and can store up to 200 different fingerprints. It is capable of 360° fingerprint recognition and download/upload templates using serial interface. Additionally, the GT-521Fxx series features a resolution of 450dpi, with a false acceptance rate of <0.001% and a false rejection rate of <0.1% while only needing <1.5 seconds to identify a unique fingerprint!

This EMG sensor is launched by the cooperation of DFRobot and OYMotion, which can detect sEMG to reflect muscle and neural activities of human. This sensor integrates filtering circuit and amplified circuit. It amplifies minimal sEMG within ±1.5mV 1000 times and depresses noises (especially power frequency interference) by differential input and analog filter circuit. The output signal is analog, which takes 1.5V as the reference voltage. The output voltage range is 0~3.0V. The signal strength depends on the intensity of muscle activities. The output signal waveform indicates the muscle activity and contributes to analyze and research the sEMG. Specifically, we can use Arduino as a controller to detect muscle activities, e.g. check whether the muscle is tense; the muscle strength, etc.

The DFRobot heart rate sensor is a thumb-sized heart rate monitor designed for Arduino microcontrollers. This sensor is a pulse sensor which is developed based on PPG (PhotoPlethysmoGraphy) techniques. This is a simple and low-cost optical technique that can be used to detect blood volume changing in the microvascular bed of tissues. It is relatively easy to detect the pulsatile component of the cardiac cycle according to this theory. The sensor has two holes that you can use to attach to your belt. You can wrap on your finger, wrist, earlobe or other areas where it has contact with skin. To ease the difficult of using this sensor, a Gravity Interface is adapted to allow plug&play. The IO sensor shield (DFR0265) is the best match for this sound senor connecting to your Arduino or other microcontroller. As this sensor can work at 3.3V which make it compatible with Raspberry Pi, intel edison, joule and curie.
