This small shield is an easy, economical way to control two small brushed DC motors with an Arduino or Arduino-compatible board. Its two integrated MAX14870 motor drivers allows it to operate from 4.5 V to 36 V, making it a great for higher-voltage motors and applications, and the shield can 1.7 A continuous (2.5 A peak) per motor. The shield can optionally be configured to power the Arduino from the same power supply as the motor driver, and the Arduino pin mappings can be customized (by cutting traces) if the defaults are not convenient.

Gravity IO Expansion Shield with Motor Driver is a new product designed for Arduino Boards. It combines IO Expansion Shield and DC Motor Driver Shield, equipped with Gravity sensor interface and TB6612FNG dual motor driver. It also has XBee socket, I2C interface and UART port, makes the connections more convenient.  With TB6612FNG dual channel motor driver IC, the shield can drive 2x1.2A DC motors at the same time. It supports PWM speed control, each channel can output 1.2A continuous current and the peak current can reach to 3.2A. It is compatible with majority micro DC motors in the market. It is a solid choice for small intelligent robot controls, convenient and cost-effective.

This is essentially a ramped up version of the Ardumoto motor driver shield but this board is capable of driving a pair of high-current motors! For this monster shield the L298 H-bridge is replaced with a pair of VNH3SP30 full-bridge motor drivers. The VIN and motor out are pitched for our 5mm screw terminals (not included), making it easy to connect larger gauge wires.

The latest quad motor driver shield for Arduino, compatible with 5V/3.3V Arduino controller, can control up to four DC motors with 8 pins at the same time. The shield supports PWM speed control and polarity control. The driver shield includes two TB6612FNG motor driver chips, compared with the traditional L298N chip, efficiency is improved and the component size also greatly reduced. The chip doesn't heat in to the rated range, and a single path maximum output 1.2A continuous current.

This is a stepper motor driver introduced by DFRobot for those projects require powerful stepper motors, such as a pair of automatic curtains, an XY Plotter. This shield allows Arduino drive stepper motors (up to 2A per motor coil, 40V max). This stepper motor drive shied adoptes a TMC260 chip which is the first energy efficient high precision microstepping driver IC for bipolar stepper motors with integrated power MOSFETs.

Instead of a L293D darlington driver, we now have the TB6612 MOSFET drivers with 1.2A per channel current capability (you can draw up to 3A peak for approx 20ms at a time). It also has much lower voltage drops across the motor so you get more torque out of your batteries, and there are built-in flyback diodes as well. Instead of using a latch and the Arduino's PWM pins, we have a fully-dedicated PWM driver chip onboard. This chip handles all the motor and speed controls over I2C. Only two data pins (SDA & SCL in addition to the power pins GND & 5V) are required to drive the multiple motors, and since it's I2C you can also connect any other I2C devices or shields to the same pins. This also makes it drop-in compatible with any Arduino, such as the Uno, Due, Leonardo and Mega R3.
