This in-system programmer can be used to program AVR microcontrollers and AVR-based controller boards, such as our A-Star 328PB Micro, Orangutan robot controllers, and the 3pi robot. The programmer emulates an STK500 on a virtual serial port, making it compatible with standard AVR programming software, and it supports devices running at either 3.3 V or 5 V. The programmer also features a TTL-level serial port, enabling general-purpose serial communication for debugging or programming microcontrollers with a serial bootloader. An ISP cable and a 1×6 double-sided male header are included with this fully-assembled programmer.

This small shield is an easy, economical way to control two small brushed DC motors with an Arduino or Arduino-compatible board. Its two integrated MAX14870 motor drivers allows it to operate from 4.5 V to 36 V, making it a great for higher-voltage motors and applications, and the shield can 1.7 A continuous (2.5 A peak) per motor. The shield can optionally be configured to power the Arduino from the same power supply as the motor driver, and the Arduino pin mappings can be customized (by cutting traces) if the defaults are not convenient.

This compact expansion board plugs directly into the GPIO header on a Raspberry Pi and provides an easy and low-cost solution for driving a pair of small brushed DC motors. Its pair of integrated MAX14870 motor drivers allows it to operate from 4.5 V to 36 V, making it a great control option for small motors that run on a wide range of voltages. The board can deliver a continuous 1.7 A (2.5 A peak) per motor. This version ships as a partial kit; all surface-mount components are installed, but the included through-hole connectors are not soldered in.

This small synchronous switching step-down (or buck) regulator takes an input voltage of up to 36 V and efficiently reduces it to 5 V. The board measures only 0.7″ × 0.7″ yet delivers a typical continuous output current of up to 2.5 A and features reverse voltage protection. Typical efficiencies of 85% to 95% make this regulator well suited for powering moderate loads like sensors or small motors. An optional shutdown pin enables a low-power state with a current draw of around 20 μA to 350 μA, depending on the input voltage, and a power-good output indicates when the regulator cannot adequately maintain the output voltage.

This compact 8 x 2 LCD is great for small microcontroller projects where you want more than just a blinking LED for feedback. This unit uses the standard HD44780 parallel interface and features a black bezel. This little 8-character, 2-line parallel liquid crystal display is a generic equivalent of the Optrex DMC-50448N-AAE-AD LCD. It uses the common HD44780 interface, so sample interface code is widely available for a variety of microcontrollers. This is the smallest package we know of for this familiar interface.
