This is a PCB mount piezoelectric passive buzzer with needle which requires an AC signal to make a sound.
Passive buzzer can produce different tones according to sound control signal. For example you can use arduino to make the buzzer produce different sound tones. Unlike the active buzzer which produce fixed tone when you just give power.
