Current Sensor Module using the Hall Effect 20 Amp

This component allows users to measure current of their circuit and will send data to the Arduino microcontroller to spit out an analog output value. This device has only three wires required to successfully interface with Arduino. Connect VCC to 5v, gnd to ground and Out to any analog pin on the Arduino. The conversion of the pin value is per 185mv/A. We have attached an Arduino code example to get it working straight out of the package. Connect the return ground line of the load to the terminal block and the other input of the block to your power source like an ammeter to start reading current. This unit is designed to read a max of 20 amps!

Specifications:

  • Sensor IC: ACS712ELC
  • Voltage: 5v with LED
  • Current: +/- 20 Amps
  • Analog Step: 185mV/A
  • Dimensions: 13 x 31 x 12 mm (W x L x H)

Please keep the unit away from any magnetic devices as EMF could affect the Hall sensor readings.
