AM-115 TTL I/O Level Converter Module

The Raspberry Pi GPIO is only 3.3v tolerable, do not put 5v into the pins. This is a reoccurring issue working with voltage sensitive devices like sensors. That is where this device come in, the TTL I/O Level Converter in either directions! Use this device to step voltage down to communicate with Arduino mini, nano and etc. devices. Connect Direction and Enable to GND to the direction for a step up voltage from 3v to 5v for connecting sensors. This unit has 8 channels for multiple connections great for microcontrollers! You are required to supply 3.3v to VccB and 5v to VccA in order for the conversion to happen. You must supply VccB with a max voltage of 3.6 any higher will damage the B port, You must supply VccA with a max voltage of 6.

Interfacing Guide:

  1. Connect VccA to a power source of max 6 volts.
  2. Connect VccB to a power source of max 3.6 Volts.
  3. Connect DIR and OE to VccA for A to B (step down)
  4. Connect OE to VccA and DIR to GND for B to A (Step up)
  5. You can have a common ground, make sure you plugged GND for both sides of the unit
  6. You now have 8 channels configured simply plug in your line you wish to step down or step up
  7. A0 is connected to B0, etc. after you do the enabling and set the voltage supply.
