Supplied in wooden carrying case. This instrument whilst robust enough for individual student use also intended for more advanced work. Scale 150 mm diameter circle is fixed, and the table and telescope movements are completely independent of each other. Both movements can be read to 30 sec. of arc by means of double ended verniers. Both rotations have fine adjustment screws, and release of a clamping screw enables coarse adjustment to be made by hand.

This apparatus demonstrates the behavior of a bimetallic strip when heat is applied. This unit consists of a bimetallic strip on a 130mm x 80mm x 30mm base. A 12V halogen bulb is mounted right below a metallic strip. The bimetallic strip is heated by the glow of the bulb, which then bends, the circuit breaks and the bulb goes off. Once the bulb cools, the circuit becomes complete, the bulb glows and the sequence is repeated. Sockets are safety sockets.
